Ways to Give Endowment Gifts
  Saddleback Memorial Foundation has established several endowments, including the Saddleback Endowment, an unrestricted endowment providing the flexibility to fund various needs of the medical center as they arise. An endowment fund is a permanent fund established by a donor of the Foundation, where the principal is never spent. The endowment principal earns interest income, and each year that interest income is what is spent by the Foundation for the purposes designated by the fund and agreed to by the donor(s).

Most of our country’s oldest colleges and universities have had such funds for many years. Just as colleges and universities could not survive today without the financial stability provided by endowments, medical centers are becoming increasingly dependent on endowments to maintain excellence in their patient care.

In addition to the unrestricted Saddleback Endowment, Saddleback Memorial Foundation has endowments designed to support:

  • rehabilitation

  • emergency care
