Labor & Delivery
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
At the Birth Center at Orange Coast, you and your baby’s health is most important to us. On occasion, before birth or
immediately after giving birth, your baby may need specialized medical care. In this event, our NICU is staffed with
specially-trained nurses, board-certified neonatologists, respiratory therapists, dietitians and lactation consultants who
can provide your newborn with exceptional and compassionate care. We offer the very latest in technical and developmental
care techniques and encourage parental involvement in all aspects of care so you can spend as much time as possible
with your baby. Our staff will keep you informed every step of the way and will ensure that you and your family are
comfortable and taken care of during this important time.
Outstanding Staff
The Birth Center at Orange Coast Memorial is
the only community hospital program in Orange
County to have Certified Nurse Midwives as part
of the medical staff. Orange Coast offers teams
of highly-trained obstetricians, pediatricians,
perinatologists and other specialists. We also
have a full-time lactation consultant to assist
new mothers with their breastfeeding needs.
Our Facility
Our birthing rooms were designed and built for
patient comfort, convenience and safety. We
have anesthesiology coverage in the hospital at
all times for patients desiring this method of
pain relief during labor, delivery, or for cesarean
section. Although most of our patients give
birth to healthy babies, we’re well-equipped for
infants needing immediate, specialized care in
our neonatal intensive care unit.
Newborn Nursery
For maternal comfort, as well as safety
and security for your newborn, we offer
a 24 hour, seven day-a-week newborn
nursery. The nursery is staffed with
nurses who can assist in caring for your
child when extra rest is needed.
