Pain Management Program
Memorial Pain Management Program Greatly Improves Patient Quality of Life Founded in 1973, Long Beach Memorial Rehabilitation Center's Pain Management Program continues to provide some of the best comprehensive treatment for chronic pain, while improving the quality of patient's lives, assisting them in returning to work, and facilitating case resolution."Our highly specialized Pain Management team provides inpatient and outpatient services under the medical direction of a rehabilitation physician," says Long Beach Memorial Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist Hassan Moinzadeh, MD. "Our core team members include physical, occupational, recreational and biofeedback therapists, as well as a licensed clinical psychologist, dietician and pharmacist who all work together to help reduce the disabling effects of pain so that individuals can lead happier lives."
Chronic pain syndromes treated include lumbar, thoracic and cervical pain, radicular pain, complex regional pain syndromes and soft tissue pain syndromes.
Goals of the program include helping patients achieve the highest level of function possible, returning them to work and leisure activities, eliminating or reducing the use of narcotics, and decreasing the need for medical services such as emergency room visits. Goals of the program also include helping patients resume control over their lives by reducing their pain and counseling patients on how to live their lives as fully as possible within the limitations that their pain may impose.
With more than a quarter century of experience and treatment of chronic pain, Long Beach Memorial's Pain Management team continues to receive high ratings from case managers, physicians and patients for its excellent communication and positive outcomes.
