Food & Wine Extravaganza
A Fusion of Flavors Exceeds Fundraising Goal!

Held on April 20th at the Napa Rose restaurant in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the Anaheim Memorial Foundation's premier fundraising event– “A Fusion of Flavors”– was a major success. 164 guests were treated to a truly exclusive epicurean experience benefiting Anaheim Memorial Medical Center, beginning with a wine tasting reception and silent auction. The evening's main event featured a four-course “Presentation of Dinner,” during which several renowned chefs introduced their specially-created dishes.

Napa Rose General Manager and Sommelier Michael Jordan, CWE, presented the selected wine for each course. Celebrity chefs included Andrew Sutton, Executive Chef, Napa Rose; Robert Del Grande of Café Annie, Houston, Texas; Ryan Hardy of The Little Nell, Aspen, Colorado; and Jorge Sotelo, Executive Pastry Chef, Napa Rose.

“The generosity of our supporters was overwhelming” said Foundation Board Member and Event Chair Amy Schilling. “We were able to raise over $127,000– an increase of $40,000 from the previous year.”

Proceeds from this event supported the purchase a new breast biopsy system for Anaheim Memorial's breast center, including a state-of-the-art stereotactic table. Minimally invasive, this method of image-guided breast biopsy can be less stressful for patients and reduces risk of complications in comparison to surgical biopsy, while enabling physicians to target suspicious tissue with incredibly accuracy.
