Main Issues:
In January 2007, Governor Schwarzenegger announced a comprehensive plan to reform the healthcare delivery system in California. Subsequent to the governor’s announcement, Senate President pro Tem Don Perata, Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, Senate Republican Caucus and Senator Sheila Kuehl have introduced other plans. While MemorialCare congratulates the Governor and the legislature for bringing these issues forward for debate, many elements of the initial plans remain problematic to our system and industry.
